    Hi all,
Any Brissy people camped around the Natural Bridge area near Nerang?
We went there for the glow worms years ago with our son's school, and would like to get back there again. I would like to camp in the area if there is a camp ground.
    Anyone have any info?
    cheers

Did a quick day trip to Natural Bridge (didnt camp there) and all the glow worms have disappeared due to the hugh amounts of water passing through that area in the last month I suspect. Whole sections on the path and railings have been washed away. Beautiful place though.

An article in the local rag (might have been last week's Sun) indicated the Natural Bridge area is closed due to a risk of instability in the bridge area.

The glow worms were one of our favourite local trips years before it was exploited by tourism operators who quickly overwhelmed the small area with litterally multiple bus-loads of tourists arriving simultaneously.

It's a terrible shame. A place that was so special now lies ruined.

          Hi,
Wife and self took a day trip in the area while stopping at Burleigh. The paths around Natural Bridge were generally ok; one section had, as Happy 50 (i'd be happy to be "just" 50 ) pointed out, been rather badly eroded. It was still possible to walk most of the paths and the water falls were flowing very nicely.

MT asked about camping. We did not come across any camping areas just at Natural Bridge, but there was a well set out camping area not far away ... at the Springbrook National Park. The spot has a specific name, but it eludes me at the moment, sorry. (Federation Settlement??? something like that).
