Camping at Easter, looking for somewhere Nth of Sydney

Hi, going to try some camping with the kids across easter before we do some longer trips over the next few years. looking for somewhere within an hour or 2 north of sydney to camp, not a bare basic campgroud, something with a few facilities and some stuff for the kids to do....maybe also some 4wd stuff too!!!

Leaving it a bit late for established camping areas for the Easter Break, but worth giving some of the parks around Anna Bay a call, north end of Stockton beach. Some of our local members are up around that area and could probably obtain more info for you.

Port Stephens fits the bill I reckon you would do okay at Koala Shores Holiday Park.

anna bay caravan park, fingal bay caravan park, wold be lucky to get in, if ya want to rough it stockon beach is great cost ya $10 for a weekend pass will be a little busy but theres 19mile of beach to camp on so you will find a spot, watagan mountains, lake munmorah state recreation area all good spots

Normally I would agree with you Samo but with the way the weather has been this year and the predictions that it is going to get worse before it gets better he may actually be able to get a booking at one of the parks in Port Stephens. Most people had a terrible time over the Xmas break with the weather being so foul every day that they may be a bit gun shy about the Easter weekend.

You could go a bit further up to Hawkes Nest area - Myall River camp and Mungo Brush are right on the river. In regards to facilities - composting type toilets.

Mav's right about his chances on scoring a site for Easter if our figures are anything to go on. After around 8 weeks of rain over the Christmas/newyear break, holiday rentals for Easter are down at the realestate office we do a lot of our work for.

thanks for your info, we have decided on around myall lakes somewhere, going to head up on Thursday, as its first come first sites up there.
