Six weeks ago Jeff ruptured his Achilles Tendon, had surgery on it, was in a plaster cast for 5 weeks, and mid-last week he went into an Orthapaedic Boot. However, last Monday he managed to rupture it again, resulting in more surgery with a poor prognosis of a permanent limp, another 6-8 weeks in a cast, orthapaedic boot for 8 weeks, followed by intense physio.

Had he not reinjured the foot, we would have been able to do the trip as we would have been able to campo and do some basic hiking. Now that he is back in a cast and on crutches again, I figure the trip isn't worth doing if we are only going to do half the stuff we wanted to.

I feel pain just reading about this!!! All the best for a quick recovery. I guess, on a brighter side, he'll have more time to visit PradoPoint! 8)

Well, he is finally wearing matching shoes! With the second rupture, he ended up in plaster for 8 weeks, the orthapaedic boot for about 6 weeks and has been out of it for about 5 weeks now. He is still limping, and still gets a fair bit of pain if he has been on it too much. The physio & surgeon are both happy with his progress though. The hardest thing was finding the matching right shoe to all of his left shoes! :lol:
