  • Going to Newcastle via Adelaide on the 17th Aug

    Hi All,

Well I will be on the road again on Sunday heading down to Adelaide. Should arrive there around 9 on Sunday night. The Prado is booked in for its injector replacement at Jarvis on Monday the 18th and I will be staying over at Glenelg that night.

On the 19th I will be heading over to Newcastle via the Hay plain and Wagga Wagga. Should reach Corlette around 8 pm give or take.

Actually the motel I am booked into at Glenelg has free broadband so I should be good for PP Chat on Monday night.

    Cheers

    Mav

Hope you have better luck with the injectors this time Mav.

Enjoy the trip, but you might find it awfully cold in Adelaide at the moment, nothing close to the 20 odd degrees you have been enjoying in Alice.

Gees we seem to always just miss each other like ships in the night BF.

I will be driving back on the 3rd of Sept at this stage from Newcastle.

Depends on if I get a sale of my house secured or not.

I am most likely going to go the Mickey T's MTZ at this stage.

Drive careful, hope you ahve a good trip but the injectors are the biggie...should get a good test between the cool weather, distance etc. You should pickup some crappy fuel somewhere for a real test

Thanks mate, I can view them from my bedroom windows at Port Stephens. I have to use a pair of binoculars to do so but they are a great sight.

Well that is it, I am off in the morning to finally get my blessed injectors changed out. Not before time either as they are now rattling when warm not just cold. I would think that if this was to go on any longer the engine would definitely incur some damage.

Anyway hopefully I will be able to report good news on Monday night Chat.

Will be staying at Glenelg tomorrow night and Monday night before heading off on Tuesday morning for Newcastle.

Okay now staying in the Ensenada Motor Inn at Glenelg. Arrived at 9:30 pm Sunday night after a fairly uneventful trip down from Alice. Did catch the Variety Bash cars at Pimba, they were a colourful lot  .

Also came across a Toyota Tarago that had had a single vehicle roll over just north of Glendambo. The cops were already on the scene, looked pretty bad too. From the marks on the road it looks like they braked very hard and suddenly, I reckon for a roo. It was a twisted mess of the road facing in the direction in which it came.

Well another successful visit to Newcastle is done and dusted. I am heading back to Alice around 4 am in the morning. Heading for Port Augusta tomorrow night then Friday will be a quick run up the Stuart HWY to Alice.

Looking forward to a good Indian nosh up at the Standpipe tomorrow night. They do a terriffic Samosa, yum yum.

I will check in again on Friday evening after I get back home to Alice.

Thanks to Matt and Samo for putting on a great tech day last Saturday.

Well just arrived home in Alice tonight. Not a bad trip only had to rescue one Britz camper from where the tourist couple had tried to do a U-Turn and went off the hard edge and sank down the embankment.

Talk about raining cats and dogs Thursday morning when I left Nelson Bay, crikey I was reduced to 20km/hr the rain was so torrential.

I lost a spottie coming in to Port August last night, I think it is the ballast that has died so I will be returning it under warranty to get another.

I have now decided that I am going to get another spread/spot filter for the Blitz 240 and also get a Bull Light and convert it to HID as well. I am going to mount the Bull Light between the two Blitz 240's and that should give me an awesome light field.
