  • Lancelin Dunes - WA

This is a great place to go test you sand driving prowess. Just dune after dune.

Theres also a 4wd track that leads north to some quiet beach and camping spots.

Hope these photo's replicate ok...I've stitched a total of sixteen pics together. I took them from the top of the highest dune and was trying to stitch them continuously so that you could all get a 360deg view but computer memory limited it.

    Here goes:

Sorry...after looking at it they're not that good when reduced in size...unfortunately the originals are 6mb each
2009 GXL D4D White Auto - ARB Duluxe Bar - Lightforce 240 Blitz spots - Icom IC440 CB - Bilstein shocks, Lovells 1.5" lift H/Duty coils - Polyairs - Tracklander Alloy roof cage and ladder - Maxtrax - rear work lights - PP Rear-door-table - Underfloor water tank - 275/65/17 BFG AT's - Ranox dual battery system - Rear door spacer - Safari snorkel - Steel sliders - ARB front and rear air lockers - ARB CKMTA12 onboard air compressor...

    Great spot
Was up there last Monday for the first time in 19 years happy to see the place hasn't changed much. I used to race beach buggies up there in the 80's and 90's and I'm sure they were higher back then but it may just be my eyesight is fading.
The new Indian Ocean Rd will make the spots like Wedge and Grey easier to get too, whether that is for the better time will tell.

That looks awesome there Bankrupt. Love what you've done.

Looks like it was busy there. Where abouts in WA is Lancelin?

Cheers. Lancelin is about 1.45hrs North of Perth. Past Guilderton / Moore River by about 35 mins.

I enjoy the trip from Lancelin - Wedge - Greys - Cervantes , When or if they put the road through will take all the fun and atmosphere out of the drive .

Personally I can't wait for the road to go through. It will seriously cut down on the 3 hours it currently takes to drive to Jurien Bay which is a haunt of mine. It's only a shame that the track was diverted around the defence force training land. I really feel that could have been avoided, anyhow, done is done.

The coastal tracks won't be affected too much will they? I agree that a great drive will be gone if the tracks disappear, but you gotta take the good with the bad.

I think though, that Lancelin will get busier when Indian Ocean Drive is completed, as will Cervantes and Jurien, simply due to the increased holiday traffic. Weather that is a good thing or not remains to be seen. Jurien's boat ramp is always overloaded at Easter time as it is which often results in some ..... heated discussions.

Great shots of the Lancelin Dunes Bankrupt!

i am sure there is just short of the Tavern - BBQ facilities at Moore River ( if you head back that way ) is better protected from the breeze

The road going through will kill places like Wedge and Grey , most likely they will be turned into resorts or the like .
They have a great atmosphere just the way they are without bringing the masses to ruin it :x
Just look at Ledge point , it used to be a great lottle spot , now every man and his dog have taken it over .
