  • WA Whitehills Beach Run

Unfortunately I'm unable to go to the Pemberton long weekend run so me and my dad are going on the Whitehills run on saturday 27th Feb (if anyone else is keen, you're welcome to come).

Quick question however, the plan is to go down the beach as far as possible and come back Old coast road. Which road south of Mandurah takes me onto the beach? I'm guessing whitehills road? And again which road should i take if i wanna go as far down as possible? Since some of you have been down that way, is it an easy track since I'll probably be going by myself and how long roughly will it take me, just straight driving?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Re: WA Whitehills Beach Run

Same here. The long weekend is out for me .... so we may as well make a day trip of it.

    Whitehills Rd it is.

If we get a decent run we can get thru to Preston Beach. A quick loop thru the carpark and we can rejoin the beach and head on down to Myallup.

Its a nice run. Prefer to run it on an outgoing to low tide as there are just a couple of low spots

    Cheers

      which probably means morning start?

EDIT: I've just had a look at Google Earth and it does look bit skinny in few places. Would you recommend this trip for a newbie?

        Re: WA Whitehills Beach Run

Only really need to get thru the Whitehills to Preston bit before lunch ... after that the run down to Myallup gets wider.

There's no worries with this run for a newbie ... especially if you've got company.

Generally its got a few soft spots and a few skinny spots that might be of concern if u were by yourself.

        Cheers

Cheers for that! I'm still planning on going, so far we have 3 cars (prado,poo-troll and a wrangler). So far not much interest from here but either way we'll be at whitehills around 9ish i think so whoever decides to come in the last minute, they are more than welcome to come!

Looks like I have to pull out due to work commitments however it looks like there are a number of interested people, it would be good if somebody's organised a time and you guys went anyway.

My brother will take my truck for that day with some of his mates so if you run into a white prado and a couple of poo-trolls it'd be him!

                      Have fun guys!

                        Re: WA Whitehills Beach Run

I think we might be able to get to this one.
Could not do the long weekend trip but this sounds good.
Will check back later to make sure of the meet point and time.

Usually a meet point for this run is Maccas in Mandurah (in the mandurah centro carpark complex cnr Pinjarra road and Mandurah road.)

                        Jeff.
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

                          Jeff.

                          Good thinking Jeff

Depart Maccas carpark at 8:30 am
Depart Whitehills Rd carpark (the end of the road in) at 9:00 am

That way there's a definite meetup point.

                          Cheers
