Great write up TWC. I could have done with it a few weeks ago - there's more info here than all the literature that gets thrown at you by the tourist bunnies.

Still - I enjoyed it immensely - and would have to rate it as one of my faves.

    Cheers

      Hi Hutch,
Even though that batch was from this year, i can't quite remember. Judging by the scenery though, it looks like about half way between Orchid Beach and Wathumba.

My convoy will be my silver Prado with the purple number plates, at this stage there is only 3 of us going. Arriving on Fraser on Wednesday early morning, after a run along rainbow!!.

Get to Frasers at lunch, then go for a bit of a run up the beach before heading back to camp!!

If your see my prado flag us down, else I will keep an eye out for you, do you know where you will be camping?? Have you booking anything, or are you getting the Other Camping sites pass?? I know when I rang up Frasers at Cathedral they had a few spots, Kiosk, bottleshop etc, to keep my energy up LOL ... Showers, toilets and kiosk will also keep our trip a bit lighter, on gear as us three big blokes Tents, mattresses, 85 litre Esky, Table Chairs etc, annexe, will fill up the Prado really quick. Not to mention the fishing gear!!!

Anyway Hope to bump into you there, and just in case I don't have a great Trip!!!

            Regards

                  Hi Hutch

Planning to head to Fraser around first week of Nov and the missus also likes the sound of 4 stars. She has chosen the beach houses as the likely accomadation.
Could you let me know how you go with them.

                  Cheers
                  Bill

My word, Just coming back from a quick dip at Champanye Pools, and there we met!!

Likewise great to meet you Hutch! Might have to do this again sometime.

We also had a great time, we stayed about 30mins north of Eurong at Frasers on Cathedral Beach, Great spot, not quite 4 stars in a non powered campsite, but for campers it was great, Hot showers, a fully decked out camp kitchen with Fridge.freezer, microwave, two sinks, two BBQ's and 3 tables, all under cover! I was impressed. Although the also have Cabins for around $160 per night, for 6 people, which is pretty good.

As it was my first trip to Fraser I had to do Indian head! It was easy in the Prado! I also made the trip up to the Cape and around to get some Picks of the light house. Overall not to bad of a trip really, I thought it would be alot more difficult but was not all that bad.

Eli Creek and Indian Head would always raise a crowd. Eli Creek for the fast cool flowing water, and Indian head for the constant 4wdrives getting stuck! On Friday we saw about 20 vehicles getting stuck. ( Yes I did too, followed another car who then stopped). After getting out, I stayed to watch 90% of vehicles that attempted Indian head bypass get stuck at least once. ( I did try the Prado again with more speed and a clear line and got straight through)..

Overall a great place, lots to see and plenty to do!
Just have to plan my next trip up there now!!
