I was going to get it done at Western but they told me that they would'nt actually be doing it in house but rather sending it somewhere else to get done - This turned me off - Perhaps because it was a Jeep, Who knows? I ended up at a place in Sunshine called "On Track 4x4" they did a great job and good guy to deal with to.

Where are they putting your Compressor and Switch? Have a look at my build thread I've added a pic of where I installed my compressor switch on the weekend, you may like it. Also pay a little extra (if you arent already) to get the larger compressor, this way you can use it to pump up tyres as well.
Weird, the way they were talking to me implied they were doing it in house. Must be a Jeep thing. If the job is bodgey I'll give On Track 4x4 a go. I haven't actually decided where to put the compressor yet, I've seen where you put your compressor, but why did you choose the position you did? We opted for the smaller compressor. Three reasons being: 1. We already have a compressor 2. Don't want the compressor to work two different jobs 3. Hence can't justify the $250something extra they were commanding. I've decided to put the switches on the right hand side of the steering wheel, next to the mirror instrument controls. On long trips, I tend to have stuff in the cup holders which might trigger the switches unintentionally if placed near the DAC/centre diff buttons.

What ever you do, Please don't put it under your seats.... Your car will start to smell like Diff Oil and its noisy to. Plus one day when you decide you want to upgrade your audio system and put and amp or two in then you can put them under the seats :-)

Air Compressor belongs in the Engine Bay IMO.

Here a pic of where I installed my Compressor Switch - If I decide to put a rea Locker in (unlikely) then the locker switch can go next to it as well. Lockers will prevent you getting bogged, not get you out once you're bogged and in my experiance by the time you realised you should have your locker engaged its all to late and you're unstrapping the Maxtrax from the roof :-) . Don't get me wrong if I had the cash and I already had Lift and Bar sorted like you then it would be considered.

I totally agree that the compressor belongs outside of the car. I never planned to have it under the passenger seat, especially when there's heaps of room under the bonnet. I don't plan on installing anything other than a second battery in there, so I think anywhere will do really. I'll let the boys at the shop decide for me, but I have a feeling they'll suggest to fit it on the passenger side towards the windshield as there's a ton of room there and it will stay well clear of the second battery tray area.

Yep, I want my switches just right of where you have your compressor switch - on the top row from left to right, leaving room on the top right for another important switch

Hi William, great pics thank you.
Your feeling on the placement of the compressor may not be far off the mark, as that's where ARB put mine.

          Cheers

Thanks REV Did they mount it on a bracket or drill holes like with zerosecta's installation?

It's actually on the wheel arch. 1st gap you come too after the fuse box heading to the firewall.
They drilled holes. But all in all, a neat job.

Sounds pretty much like zerosecta's installation... Only 3 more sleeps! A shame I won't have time to take it to the Murray till late Jan next year
