  • BORNHOLM BEACH WA ?

I am heading down to Denmark in a couple of weeks and was thinking of going to Bornholm Beach for a fish . Can any one advise if it is hard to get to as i may only be going with my own vehicle with basic recovery gear, dont want to be stuck there whilst my kids are being looked after by friends.

    Advice would be appreciated .

It has been three years since I was last down at Bornholm, but back then it was quite a difficult hill climb to get out. It is steep and there is a ruttted 120 degree bend at the beginning which makes means you loose most of your speed. We got up first go at 10psi but others took several attempts and needed to go as low as 7psi.
I don't know that I would go alone.

At 10 psi my Prado Grande mumbled his way up there, at times I thought he is going to stall but electronic traction control made a difference hey. I have a quite some 4WD experience but when I got down there and noticed that I am the only human being in that totally remote place on the globe, I had some concerns getting back up there. I do believe that vehicles without necessary grunt just won;t make it, the engines will stall, you need revs and torque! Its worth a go, fantastic place!

When I lived in Albany with my old 90 series V6 it was always a rough dash to get up. The track was always chopped up and many a lesser vehicle struggled to get back up without the right pressures and descretionary use of right foot.
