Looking for a 2 night trip taking my first time camping 9yo

Looking for a place to camp within easy (1-2 hr) drive from Sydney.
Need to be in mobile phone range as will be on call from work.
Ideally something easy as I want her to enjoy it and want to go out again.
ok if it is a paid camping site at a good caravan park with some 4wd trails close by or it can be in the bush.
looking at leaving next wednesday returning friday (i know short notice but the on call is covering someone who is now in hospital, promised her a camping trip and this is one of the few periods i can get away)
all suggestions appreciated

watagan state forest, has mobile reception in quiet a few places, there is a camping area called the pines, it has pit toilets, picnic tables and plenty of shade and heaps of 4wd trails. chech this out http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/Natio ... x?id=N0133. There is also stockton beach just north of newcastle, you have to be self sufficient here, no water or toilets, beach permit cost $10 for 3 days, theres fishing 4wdin and just time to chillax cheers samo

You could go to lake Lyle, has phone reception and u can drive out the back of the dam or rydel

my suggestion when i see this question asked is always the same.Although i am spoiled to have this at my back boundry and sometimes think i should keep it to myself i do like others to know that there is no need to travel long kms to find a camp when this is so close to outer sydney.
Burralow creek camping ground [NPWS],it is 9.6km in from Kurrajong Heights via BURRALOW RD fire trail which is approx 15mins from Richmond nsw or about 13kms from Bilpin via PATERSON RANGE trail [can do a circuit].It has large clearing that you will find midweek is deserted but some campers and day trippers come to on weekends,an older pit toilet and a newer flasher model pit toilet,barbeque fire pits/plates [bring own firewood and water],shade trees,grassy,a nice walk to waterfall with glow worms at night,creek nearby.
The access roads in are marked 4wd only but although steep you can get in easily and can tow campers in.You will have testra mob service at the campground.There are no camp feesalthough the ranger does a good job and likes to keep an eye on things.

As an alternative you can try Upper coloreserve approx40mins from Windsor anothergreat spot by the colo river where yuo can swim but you won't get phone service link attached
