Best way to O'Tooles (Thompson State Forest) with camper?

Hi all, after a great day trip to the Walhalla and Thompson State Park areas a couple of weeks ago, I thought it'd be great to take the better half and the dog back for a weekend. Looking to camp at Little O'Tooles or somewhere around there and am wondering the best way to get there with an offroad camper in tow?

I'd like to take it down Merringtons Tk, across the river (a couple of times I believe?) onto Junction Tk and then onto Donnelly Creek Tk to O'Tooles. Would this route be ok with a camper or am I better off going up further to Donnelly Creek Rd and coming down that way to O'Tooles?

Any other good (small) campsites around that area suitable for a camper?

Any advice would be great.

Saw your pm but though I'd answer here.
You'll be Ok taking an off road camper into O'Tooles by that route - we've done it many times.
The Donnelly's Creek Tk is very narrow in parts so can get a little squeezy if you meet someone coming the other way.
The river crossing below Junction Hut might be still high - you can ring the rangers at Erica DSE to find out.
O'Tooles can get a bit "feral" at times, if you hear banjo music get out of there :wink: :wink:
Other nice spots along there -it's State Forest so you can camp anywhere really.

Thanks for that. Good timing. We're heading up there next weekend. Any small campsites you'd recommend for a camper trailer that might be a bit quieter?
