where to put the uhf?

Hi there i am new to this site, i have had the prado about 3-4 months, and am in the process of adding the extras......just had the 2inch lift done and the snorkle, just brought me self a uhf, and havent got it fitted yet as i am not to sure where to fit it....was thinking of installing a overhead console, has anyone done that? or can you? ...i live in Cairns, wondering if anyone up this way can advise on who to use for anything, so far i have been to Nathan Lockyer on English st, the service has been great, anyways, just wanting peoples opinions

what model 90 you have, 90,120 of 150, if you let us know we can give you of some ideas. cheers samo

Cheers samo, was a good read, i am still not to sure where to fit the uhf, i brought one with a detachable face, so i did get some ideas from that link you posted.

Mine had a detachable face so I have the base unit sitting up behind the drivers kick panel and the face is sitting just below the coin tray. Works for me for the time being and has for the last three years.

Others have located the base unit under the plastic trim in the centre console under the gear selection or even inside the centre console. Search through the forums and you will find tonnes of ideas. Use one or use a few and come up with a combination. It's what ever suits you as there is no best solution.
