How long do you plan to stay in PD, as you would be better off staying in Cairns if you want more things to do. Not much to do in PD, if you plan to do things, but if your only going to relax then PD is fine.
        Try this site http://www.portdouglas.com/accommodation/
97 VX Grande, with front & rear air lockers, ARB Sahara winch bar with tigers 11 winch, 2" EFS lift, 265/75/16 Achilles Desert hawk XMT, and more.

we will be staying prob 4 or 5 nights, and we will be mostly relaxing..maybe the odd day trip.
I looked at Hayman Island, but it is closed until the end of July (looked beautiful!)

I like the look of Sea Temple resort & spa At Port Douglas...anyone stayed there???
          Or, Sheraton Mirage??

I also looked at Cable Beach Resort in Broome, have always wanted to go there!!!..
but I think it is booked out

Thanks for the suggestions...keep them coming

I use to work at the Sheraton Mirage and for what you pay for, it is not worth it.
Treetops is a good place to stay up there. Sea Temple sounds like a great place too.

Have a look at "Pool" Port Douglas in Crispin St. Half the units have balconies that each have an entrance to the long pool that runs the whole length of the unit complex, the others overlook the golf course. Still close to town.

              Cheers,

              Dave
