Ever wondered what its like at the top of a 100mtr wind turbine? this is looking towards the pointy end that the blades are attatched to:

Yes, unless there is a major break the blades are in motion all the time or unless the wind drops out. The round blue structure in the front of the photo is the gearbox. There have been several failures in Tassy & these have to be replaced by cutting the roof out & craning the old out & the new in. nice one, how big is the generator. How many have you got down there. How do you get up there, stairs?
Are they controlled remotely?
The generator looks like our emergency generator attached to a 1.6MW gas turbine.stepped up the a 200 LC for towing,
but had a 2012 and 2010 150 Prado GXL auto diesel in Graphite with Bridgestone D697 A/T. Dobinson C59-300/325 and Bilsteins. Accessories : two baby seats. Sidewinder`s Dual Battery isolator and rear power outlet kit. Pirana Battery tray, Hayman Reese towbar with Toyota wiring kit and Brains`s guard.Comment

One turbine can power a thousand homes,but all the power is sold to the grid, they cost around $5m US, the larger ones have lifts where as the older ones only have ladders. The two farms in far NW Tas have around 35 each, old & new.
