  • Prad VX 150 Series - Securing a car fridge

I have a new PRADO VX 150 Series and a WAECO car fridge. I need to secure the car fridge in the rear luggage compartment but ARB say there are no securing points and there should be a Toyota accessory that locks into the channels on the floor. Toyota say they do not have such an accessory and noone else has been able to help. Has anyone had the same problem and found a solution?

Don't know of an actual Toyota accessory , but aren't there tie down or anchor points in the back,
in which a proper fridge slide could be fixed or mounted?

I have a GXL with no easy provision to secure my fridge slide or other luggage. My solution was to use some 12 mm ply coverd in marine carpet to match, cut out to the exact size/shape of the luggage area. Then I bolted my slide to it and added various other tie down points for other bulky luggage. The shape means that side to side and for and aft movement is not possible and I just use some heavy cable ties to fix the back to the head rest posts on the folded down seats. You could even use the very lightweight tie down points to further secure the false floor if you wished but mine seems very secure when doing most offroad work.

Thanks this turned out to be very useful. I am pursuing Toyota re the so-called deck hooks which fit into the deck rails in the VX and Kakadu. Back in 2009 the story was that these were only available in Europe but I am hoping that has changed.

Here you go Stumped.. finally a pic.

I haven't fixed it to the floor at all. Only because I could really figure a easy way to do it. Near the seats I have just used a heavy cable tie to fix it to the headrest posts of the folded down rear seats, both sides.

With a load on and tied down it has never moved!

Can anyone let me know how they have secured their waceo without having to buy or use the fridge slide. It looks like I can only anchor it at 1 end
