I have been given an OZ trail awning - yet to be fixed to the Rhino Rack. Just wondering if the Rhino brackets they advertise for the Sunseeker would work for the Oztrail. Has also been suggested to bolt the awning directly to the side plates of the rack - not sure about this. What have others done please?

After looking at a lot of awnings lately I can safely say that after seeing an awning by Supa Peg you will never consider the other stuff. You pay a little more but I think it will last for as long as you have the car. The canvas (which is actually canvas), brackets, poles, connectors etc are miles better then the others. I have the Toyota north/south roof rails. The two crossbars are the Rhino vortex type. The length is 2m and it extends 3m out.2004,GXL V6 Auto. Well my oztrail awning has suffered the dreaded camlock failure. Two uprights and one horizontal. Yet to have it out to see if I can fix it, but does anyone know if the supapeg twist lock mechanism's could be directly swapped over?

Not sure but if you taken the knackerred ones with you to a decent camping place they should be able to advise you. While here I bought a 3m Supa Peg awning that is destined for the side of the Tvan when I make up brackets however I fitted it to my roof rack this trip and I have to say it is so much better than my OzTrail or Rhino awning it isn't funny. Yes we have a few 4wds...

The poles on the oztrail seem to be similar dimension so I might get a single set and see how we go.[SIZE=2]120 GXL D4D Auto, with a 'List of Wants' greater than the 'List of Needs' greater than the 'List of Haves'
