Just had a phone call from a female with terrible English who got a bit shirty with me when I asked her to repeat where she was from 3x times because I couldn't understand her.
She was claiming to be from the Australian Council of Banks and claimed that they had checked my banking records and found that I had been ovecharged by $5452 in bank fees etc. She then proceeded to congratulate me... This is where I hung up the phone.
I can see how older folk get conned into these scams as they are quite pushy over the phone.
I assume that her next step would have been to ask for my PayPal account or get me to send a $ monetry amount to a certain bank account so that these so called overcharges could be returned?
She even had a fair amount of background noise to make it sound like a call centre I pressume?
