G day Guys a complete newbie here.
Just recently purchased my first 4wd. Thought i would join the forum ranks after lurking for a few weeks prior to my purchse. I have done no 4wd of my own but i am extremly excited to start. I am thinking of joing the Werribee district 4x4 club as i am in the western suburbs of melbourne, to help me learn as much about what i am doing before making rookie mistakes and damaging my new baby.
My baby is:
Year: 2002 Prado
Colour:Silver
Model:GXL
Engine:3.0l Turbo Diesel
Accessories: 2 Inch lift with poly bags, TJM bullbar, Hayman reece towbar, light force spotties, gme uhf, black widow draws with fridge slide, snorkel (not sure on brand), duel batteries with fridge plugs mounted in rear.
Wish list: Warne winch, Roof rack, Bigger tyres, Waeco Fridge
Well thats it really. Looking forward to reading some more helpful info on this forum...

Gday guys,
Ive been floating around the LCOOL, Myswag and 4wdaction forums for a few years now and considering an idea thats rattling around in my head, I thought I better join up here and stalk around for a bit.
My pride and joy has been a highly modified 105 series cruiser, and in the last 6 years of ownership Ive only put 50,000km on the clock. You can find some build up threads on the 4wdaction forum (search my username and they will come up) and I think that it might be time to move on and find somthing that better suits our needs.
You see in my driveway at the moment are 2 work supplied Hilux's, the landcruiser and the Rav4. Time to consolidate down to 1 work supplied hilux and a highly modified 150 series Prado...
The general idea is to start with a 150 series D4D Auto then bolt/weld/solider/crimp/zip tie/tape the following bits on for good measure
ARB winch Bullbar
Fog lights
Snorkle
Winch
Dual Batt
UHF
D/Lights
Tow bar
Awning
Suspension (3 inch Superior Eng kit with UCA's)
Tyres (in the 33 inch variety)
Roof rack
Rear Draws
Fridge slide
Cargo barrier
Compressor
Twine Shower
Electric Brake controller
MSA Seat covers
Custom Sliders
Lockers
Chip and Exhaust
Now thats all I can think of at the moment... and considering that this is still an idea thats wedged well and truely between my ears dont hold you breath waiting for a build up thread...
Anway guys... I'll be using the search function and asking questions in a thread near you soon.
Cheers

Hello all,
Just joined the forum recently and became a Prado owner about a month ago! Been loving it so far minus the machine gun impression it makes on cold starts!
Traded in my old car for it much to the other halfs disagreement, but she is in love with this thing now! She's seen more of WA in one month than she has in her 22 year existence!
Anyways, hope to contribute to the community in some way in the future as I am a complete learner for now.
Take care all

Hi Juddy, Welcome to the forum.
For the past few years the SA crew has had a BBQ day at Goolwa around November, not sure if its on again this year. Maybe keep an eye out for it in the trip reports section, should take you long to get there
