More ground clearance, in a 2009 they will correct the speedo, they will also slow the odometer by approx 5% so you travel further between each service and have less K's showing when you sell.

Forgot to add one important mod to the list above - 3" Sterling Exhaust. After getting that fitted, the Prado now moves like a rocket! Just about to install a Unifilter as well.

Hi guys,

New to this forum.
Just picked up a new 150 GXL last night. Absolutely stock standard.
Wife loves it. Hopefully she'll let me drive it soon.

Plan to do the usual stuff to it, and hoping to glean some info from this site as well as contribute.

Urgent list includes electric brake control for the camper (Jayco Hawk) and a radio.
Then I'll move on to exciting things like GPS, winch, decent shoes, raised suspension, diff breathers, catch can etc etc.
Oh the horror of it all. Countless hours in the garage with thinking fluid and tools...........

Must say, I've had a quick browse of the forum and its as impressive as the new car.

Just joined. Hanging out for 13/9. This is the day I will retire. Yes day before federal election - whoopee. Won't have to handle a change of goverment.
Plans are to get rid of my loyal Honda Euro and pick up a 2008-09 Prado 120 and equip appropriately and a second hand hard floor camper. Then off for a test camp down the coast and then out to the Flinder's Ranges for 4 weeks.

I have been prowling this site, Pradopoint and ExploreOz for the pastfew days and weeks and have learned so much.

Interesting to see Mark (MDSimpson) active on PP and here. Met him when we were both were mods on a photogrpahy forum. He does get around!

Have just joined! and what a wealth of info there is on here!

After years of owning Hilux's, and with the expanding family it was time to step into a Prado. Picked up my first rig last week and couldnt be happier! 150 series GXL, diesel auto! already got the ARB delux bar, OME suspension and compressor! Have to say once i can pry it away from my wife it is an incrediable car...

G'Day Guys,
Second time round for me here. Originally joined many many moons ago when I first bought the old 90 series but lost track when we upgraded to it's "Big Brother" (100 Series V8 Petrol). The 100 was getting a bit exxy to run as a daily work vehicle so bit the bullet and went for another brand of 4x4 (Smaller and cheaper to run).

Kept the P.O.S. for 12 months and decided I saw the light and had to go back to a Toyota!!!!!

Rejoined the forum a couple of weeks ago to get some ideas and thoughts and it's good to see everyone is just as helpful as they were 4 to 5 years ago

Anyway to keep it short we picked up a 2003 GXL Prado last weekend with only 140K's on the clock and in what I would call almost immaculate condition. Stock as they come apart from window tint and AT tyres. Spending this weekend fitting a few accessories and ordering others!!!!!!

Will try to get some pics over this weekend and might start a "Rig Build" thread.

Just saw the original suggestion for Introduction..... So here's mine

Accessories: Dual battery fitted within 24 hours after picking it up, Toyota 3 Bar Sports style roof rack with shovel holder fitted last night.
Accessories waiting to be fitted: Ironman Bullbar (Currently being colour coded), Ironman Rear Drawer system (On order), Spotlights and Fog Lights, Brake controller, Uniden UHF and Aerial, Rear bracket and work light, Tigerz11 12,000lb winch, HD Anderson Plug to keep the drinks cold in the caravan, Upgraded wiring and power socket/s in rear for the Waeco.
Wishlist: Lift kit and Snorkel (Would add more but SWMBO'd can see the screen).
