Thanks for the welcome. If you have had the bug since the Torana days it seems I may not be finding a cure to it any time soon

I did see the Sunday trip and I am very tempted! I may not be able to make it though due to some other things we have on but it sounds like exactly like the type of stuff I want to be doing. If I can't make Sunday, I will certainly be keeping an eye out for the next day out.

Hey guys,

Still to take delivery of a very clean 2006 V6 GXL with only 80,000KM, its on its way up to Darwin from Sydney as I write this. I haven't even driven the car myself yet, but before it was put on a truck I had a Safari snorkel installed to save some cash compared to up here.

The mods have already begun Looking forward to sinking some cash into some upgrades to make a capable tourer for up here in the Top End.

Hope to see some of you Darwin guys out and about in the coming months to give me bit of a guided tour up here yeah?

WOW that's huge buying a car unsight unseen. I hope its all ok for you. You will be happy with the prado there a great car. And yes while ever your a part of PP there will continually be pp members offering how to spend $$$ on your pride and joy lol............Welcome.....Cheers Steve

I was lucky enough to have my Father down in Sydney to be able to look it over and test drive it for me. Also had a full inspection done before i handed over the cash.

Other than the usual cracked das issue and a chip in the windscreen it was very clean, so even though its unseen by me I trust the old man

That's good that you were able to have your dad check it, and yeah there would be some thing wrong if you didn't trust your old man...... Bet your hanging to get it now.....Cheers Steve

A 2006 with cracked dash? Get it to a dealer pronto for a warranty claim.

Some they do some they don't. Some times you have more luck if its been serviced by Toyota some times not. Depends also wether the dealer pushes it for you, other dealers not so helpful. Think it all depends on your luck. Should be bloody done under warranty as they know its a common problem but unless you can get some one to prove that the airbag deployment could be hindered in some way most of it comes to how lucky you are with the dealer.......But nothing to lose in trying......Cheers Steve

G'day - new member here! Today I just purchased my first brand new car! Prado Altitude in Graphite with bonnet protector and towbar. Very excited.

Thanks guys. The GU was nice, but to truckish for everyday use. The new prado is nice.. Did 300k today getting it home.. Uses half the fuel. Looking forward to spending money on it. :-)

Hi There everyone.

Long time lurker finally making my first post. Had my 2010 petrol 150 for about six weeks so far. The big silly grin on my face is just now starting to fade! Patiently waiting for the winter road closures to lift while I put together a recovery kit and learn some of the ins and outs of driving the machine.

Big thank you to everyone who has contributed to the site before me: the wealth of info and opinions available from the search bar is fantastic.
