G'day People.
I'm a newbie to this forum...
Just yesterday, I have ordered the a canopy green, 3.0L Auto Prado Standard, with Delivery date expected in 4 months time....
At the moment I drive an 96 4.0L Jeep Cherokee XJ (lpg/Petrol), which actually has been my first car, and has been good fun... But it's on it's last legs so it's time to upgrade... I been really considering getting the new Jeep wrangler Rubicon...
Which i still believe is genuinely the best rock crawler available straight out of the box... But since the diesel is unavailable on the rubicon, and the 3.8l v6 being far from impressive, and the jeep resale value being fairly bad, i decided to go for the toyota....
The Prado with it's 9.2L/100Km consumption and it's 180L fuel capacity will make a pretty good tourer I reckon....
And I genuinely hope i will see some of this Toyota reliability I have been hearing about!!!
Also so far I have seen only single pic of the Prado standard, So if anyone on this forum has the Standard version, I'd love to see the pic??
Been watching this site for a while now.Great site and sound like a good bunch of guys. Finally recieved my new prado a couple of weeks ago after a four month wait.I think this site made the wait easier as i could see i wasnt the only one waiting.

Tomas, you'll think you are in heaven upgrading from an XJ to a prado, i had a KJ and upgraded to a petrol GXL. Yes. i have also been bitten by the resale values of the jeep, but the toyata prado diesel would have one of the best resale values on the market, Enjoy.

We have solar panels set up on our camper been usin it now for about 2 yrs and they work very well.
We run the camper off them and two car fridges as well as the other stuff we use as all the gear we use now runs on battery which is charged by the solar panels
