      Good day all,

Firstly I want to thank the moderators and each and every member who has posted info on this amazing website.
I am new to your wonderful country having immigrated 1 year ago and still in the honeymoon stage and probally will be for life and can't wait to do the Brisbane to Perth trip. ( in a Prado of course.)
I unfortunetly cant post any info on my Prado yet and I dont have one yet, So please dont shoot me.. yet :> My toyota's had to sold due to immigration and I have been having withdrawl symptoms every minute of every day. Every time I see a Prado, anywhere, anytime, Man I go crazy.
I Will have one ( D4D VX 2008 model )before the end of the year and cannot wait to start to customize it and really contribute to this website and be part of the PradoPoint family.
So for now I will surf your forums and suck in all the Wonderful Information / Amazing Stories / Photos / Advise, Comparisons and Jokes...

      Thank you again

          Hi Ntpryce,

          Thank you for the welcome.
Myself and family immigrated from South Africa. We were orginally going to move up to Spain, Barcelona, but wife and kids persuaded me to move down under.......Soooooooooooooooo glad we did...
I will refrain from talking cricket or rugby for I will be kicked out and sent to Siberia :>
Back south, I had 2 4x4 Toyota Hiluxes and a 2001 Prado V6.. So you can understand im going out of my mind not being in a Prado.
This website is wonderful and I am amazed at all the information been shared and uploaded.

          Thanks

            Hi all

Jarrad is my name and im in Adelaide.. I have been on here for a while now and thought its probably about time i get off my ass and put my intro up. I bought a 05 T/D VX prado in october last year, has done 60K and was upgraded from a lifted and locked feroza... what a change!

Its a one owner and the guy i bought it from has spent a stack of cash on it, some of the mods are

2" lift with heavy duty springs in the rear
            TJM snorkle
            ARB colour coded steel bar
Rallye 4000 Chrome lights - I have converted them to HID
            Piranha dual battery setup
            Turbo timer
            Trailer brakes
            DP chip
            3" exhaust straight through
            265/70/17 BFG's

All i have had to do was install the TX 3440 -- thanks to those on this forum who have installed the same radio, the pics you uploaded were a great help.

Got the car mainly to do some travelling, with the first big trip next month where the wife and i are going from Adelaide to Darwin for 3 weeks, followed by the simpson later on in the year

                    Hi every one, I'm tanya.

Just want to say that this website is amazing, so much info & all for us 4wd freaks (bloody terrific).

I live just west of Brisbane, we have a black 2000 RV6 prado with an ironman bullbar and last year we had a snorkel fitted & a 2in lift and also a rear diff locker when the crown wheel in the rear diff snapped into 3

and we're running our first set of coopers on it. She's a beauty to drive but we take her through some pretty rough stuff. We're looking at getting a dual battery setup soon & hubby wants a 12000lb ironman winch, and i suppose we might be getting a locker in the front pretty soon if it's the front diff we did last week :?

                          Hi,

I joined the forum in Sept, but didn't have the courage to contribute to this illustrious group till recently.

This is a great source of info. I have spent the last week of my holidays catching up on the finer points of running a Prado.

As you may see from the photo, I have a white GXL with safari snorkel - no bullbar. Its the first 4WD I have owned, and I love it. Its an April 08 build. I was advised not to go with the bullbar as it doesn't enough value when its sold. (Its a lease vehicle, so I hope to replace it within a couple of years - hopfully for a better one after I have learned which options I should have got in the first place.)

I am married with two sons - 19 & 24. The older purchased a Surf at the same time I got the Prado. I love getting in the outdoors and camping.

I hope to contribute more as time progresses. I seem to be spending more and more time on this forum - Its addictive

                          Cheers - Greg

                              Hi McBain,

The ST's are a bit noisy on the blacktop. You soon get used to it though, and then you don't notice it. They were essential on the Cape trip, so I was very happy to have them. I have now put them on Black Steelies (Kings) so I can use them when necessary and enjoy the peace around town. I have since noticed a few chips out of the rubber around the edges, which I think others have reported. They are still a great tyre offroad. They gave me a lot of confidence in the slippery stuff,

                                Hi everyone

Just bought a stock '03 120 Prado GXL- silver, auto V6 to replace the Jeep. needed something newer, cheaper to run, and more reliable. I don't think the Prado has as much character and offroad ability as the Jeep but it has so many other advantages. Esp. love the economy, build quality, and smooth drive. Just got to slowly start modifying it now. SO KEEN to take it for it first offroad trip :!:
