Just got to slowly start modifying it now. SO KEEN to take it for it first offroad trip :!:
Welcome WBY 1, i also replaced my jeep with a prado, yes the jeep was fun and looked good and went well off road, but owning one was a pain in the arse, constantly in the workshop getting things fixed under warranty, in two years with the prado 4 trips to the worshop for four services, as you said, quite, build quality, economy, blah blah, give me these any day over the fun jeep.

            Hi all

We have a 2006 white prado diesel. It is the standard proverty pak with only the tyres non-standard. It is mainly used as a work car but sometimes it is called upon as a tug for the Jayco eagle. We have covered over 150 k since new with many off road trips. All servicing has been carried out in my garage except for the new gearbox. ( thanks to Mr. Toyota for the warranty) It will be due for replacement soon and this time I will perhaps buy the petrol model. We look forward to sharing our experiences and trip reports in future posts.

            Regards

              Hi everybody
About time I introduced myself to this forum (congrats Aaron on a top effort)
call me boof7 (apol to boof, no relation). I am mid 30 (plus 15) odd and have had the prado for nearly 4 years and it is almost still original (me bad!)

Planning to take the wife and kids (3) up the red centre and back around the west coast this year so this forum has given me some ideas about what I need to change with the car. The arse end sinks quite a bit when I hook up the camper.

              Speaking of which the car
              Model: Prado GXL manual Diesel
              Year: 2005

Accessories: Tow bar, Coopers, Prodigy tow brake thingy
Wishlist: B/bar, rear drawer set up, CB radio, etc

                  G'day all,

Thought I'd better introduce myself. My name is Ed and recently got my hands on a 2004 GXL TD. Made the purchase after deciding to take 6 mths off and take a trip around Oz.

A big thanks to all who have posted information on here as this is what help me steer towards getting a Prado over alot of other vehicles out there.

I have already made and installed spare wheel spacers (even surprised the wife) and they turned out a treat. This is the first of many planned Mods for the young lass that I have planned.

Not too good with the camera but will post some pics up soon.

                  Cheers Ed

                  Model: GXL TD Man

Accessories: Toyota B/Bar, Dual Batteries, Tow pack

My wife, son and I are also looking at going bush a little and we have a few areas marked out which we would love to visit, we are also keen to work the Fraser coastline once again with friends which we have had to ride cattle class with for sometime due to not having a 4wd.

Had my new Prado about 2 weeks now. I have driven a 91 V6 Petrol 4Runner for about 11 years and it was finally time to upgrade. Looking forward to many good years from the Prado like I have had from the 4Runner.

Planning to setup my Prado so I can get back into camping and traveling WA and hopefully beyond. Been away from it for a while, have been busy making a family.
