      Hi folks,

      I've been checking out your forum for a few weeks now while in the process of tracking down MY Prado, and your submissions have been a big help in making my decision.

      Now I've got my shiny new '02 TX, and the fun begins - I'll have lotsa questions.

      The new toy is bog standard, relatively high mileage (260,000) 3-litre diesel auto - it's a nice clean unit, everything works, and it seems to have done a lot of dirt-road travel but little off-road work. Tyre condition and grit-blasted under-side point to this.

      I picked it up from a dealer in the Snowy Mountains region, traded my trusty '06 e-gas Falcon, and it's my first modern 4 x 4. It's been a long time since our primary vehicle was anything other than a Commodore or Falcon, at least 25 years. ( Yes, I'm old, and I don't care !! )

      I've used Hiluxes and similar 4 x 4's for work, and my interests include rebuilding old Jeeps, but now it's time for some serious fun and I think the Prado is just the unit for the job.

      I'll leave the introduction here for the moment, and I'll go off and check out the previous submissions re lights and tyres and lubricants etc. If I can't find the answers I'm seeking, I'll ask a few questions later.

          Hey fella's,

          Thought I should sign up and post something now I actually own a Prado.

          I scooped up a 2002 GXL Advantage V6 a few weeks back after months of looking, pretty much stock apart from a set of BFG's, factory steps and bullbar.

          This is a great site with plenty of info, I've got a few mods in mind to get ready for some family touring. This place should prove most helpfull!

            I know what your thinking, wots a luxy doing in here. Well snaga, you have finally convinced me to join. Hope to catch up with all of you soon to talk tales. Off to Mt Mee this weekend to try and get into some trouble, have to try the new winch and diff lockers... Hope to make some good contacts thru your site and if any one needs electronic equipment installed to your rig, give us a hollar. Been doing it for the last 15 years. Only to happy to help the club out.

              Hi all, I am new to not only to forums but also 4wding, I have just purchased 2 WEEKS AGO ...my first 4wd 2009 sx prado (direct from showroom) hope I made a good choice, auto diesel metal storm (looks black/blue green sometimes), I havent added anything to it yet apart from a tow bar & tinted windows .. woohoo. and I love it I have only owned Holden HSV clubsports for past 15 years so it was time I grew up. My wife and I are taking it for a run to Wilsons Prom tomorow it will be awesome.I hope to meet/chat with lots of people & I am eager to suck as much info/knowledge out of you all as I can. We are looking to travel more & get out of the rat race as much as possible. I have a lot of reading to do.. This site is Awesome

                          As an ex Bathurst Boy, welcome!
                          I'm sure things have changed a lot there, last time I was in Bathurst Toyota, Pete Colling was a new salesman there.
                          School in Bathurst was a time in life that sometimes you would prefer to avoid especially with the muck that has ben dragged up over the last couple of years.
                          Anyway I'm sure a dealer who is prepared to give some input and receive some constructive feedback will be worth having on board!
