    Mark, check out Welcome to Land Cruiser Owners On Line (LCOOL). It is another Australian site and covers 70s, 80s, 90s, 100s, 120s and 200s. I don't think they have info on 150s but they coverage of large 4wds (80s, 100s and 200s) is very impressive.

        I am new to all this. Just bought a 2004 VX automatic petrol and want some advice on putting the car into 4x4 for the first time. I am used to older manual landcruisers. Some help would be great.

            Our new ride and first 4x4, which we picked up a week ago:



            07 GXL V6 manual, 85000km. One previous (and very fussy) owner, and the vehicle has never been off-road. Came with the ARB colour-matched bullbar and ARB towing package.

            (I've been mulling over getting a 4x4 for about 18 months. My trusty old E34 (5-series) BMW somehow sensed my waning loyalty, and about 5 weeks ago blew its head gasket in a final act of retribution. This, and my persistent wife, finally prodded me into action...)

            I had D694LT's x 5 put on the day after collection, and am having the Bilstein/King treatment tomorrow. I have some Narva 225 Ultimas and a TP09X1 ready to install. Snorkel, aux battery and UHF are likely as well.

            We (wife and two young boys) love the outdoors, and will be mainly touring/camping for bushwalking, fishing and photography. I guess I bought the Prado as an all-road vehicle rather than an off-road vehicle - we shall see 8). For our family needs, the Prado ticked the most boxes - other contenders were 06-onward Pajero's, LCs, Patrols, and the current Hyundai Santa Fe.

            I'm really enjoying PP. The collective info here is staggering - I've picked up plenty of tid-bits to keep me busy for ages!

                G'day all.

                Reached this site after evolving from researching Tritons, to the Challenger, to the Pajero, and now to the Prado.

                Boxes to be ticked are 4WD, Diesel, Manual, and seven seats. I'm stuck between the Pajero and Prado at the moment, but I've got another six months or so to make a decision yet...

                Needless to say, I'm on plenty of forums, and sponging all the info from the wise, and hopefully not make the same mistakes that others have.

                Been in the car modding business for a while now, had most engines and drivetrains, and know that it has to be done right the first time.

                Looking forward to catching up with a few SA lads later down the track too. Cheers.

                  G'day ladies and gents

                  Just heard from the dealer here that my car has arrived in Darwin. Should be here in 2 -3 days. . . can't wait . . . think Christmas has finally arrived!

                  Now just to compile the list of extras to add to it! Yip yah!
