Hey all

A quick intro ... been around the 4x4 seen for some time ! Im mostly found trawling the quick car sites But my passion for the outdoors and four wheel driving is just as additive ! Travelled all of WA including Kimberley's , some parts of NT and covered all of south west ! looking forward to heading east in the next few months and covering the top end of QLD

Few months back traded our GLX-R on a new Prado . 2010 mdl ,150 , Auto .... small modifications list so far with TVs for the kid and a duel battery system added for the fridges along with a electric brake controller for the camper

Great site and look forward to sharing/receiving info with you all

Cheers Clinton

Hey fellow fourbie owners/enthusiasts,

It's a great pleasure to be apart of a community who love and cherish Prados. Im probably a youngster compared to a lot of other members, but hey... a 4wd lover is a 4wd lover

I own a maroon 1997 Land Cruiser Prado (Series 90) which has a lovely 5" lift kit. I'll post pictures of my beastie when weather permits.

To end on a high, that blue prado (looked to be a 2009) parked in the Dicksmith parking lot at West Lakes Shopping Centre last Friday 28th in Adelaide.. it's cause of that awesome PRADOPOINT.com sticker on your back window which brought me here. I'll certainly be investing in a sticker.

Thanks,
EasyCompany24

How on earth did you manage a 5" lift? 3" suspension + 2" body? SAS?

Hmm, the previous owner said that it has a 5" lift kit... Maybe he meant 5cm (2inch)
...is there any official way to either measure or determine the lift height?

glen_ep has a fairly comprehensive suspension guide for the 90 series here

From memory, stock heights can range from 740-770 mm measured from the bottom of the rim to the flare.

0" sus - 0" body - 265/65R16 (30.6")
Front Suspension: Originals
Rear Suspension: Originals
Tires: Originals
Rim-to-Flare measurements (unknown load):
- Front: 745 mm
- Rear: 755 mm
Articulation measurements: ???
Declan: 1997 GXL 4.5 Auto 80 series on LPG, ARB bullbar, 2" OME lift, 32" MTZ, GME UHF, rear ARB locker, Kaymar spare wheel carrier

Yes did own a 4wd a mighty 80 series fully deck out how I wanted, did some amazing trips up north and over western australia. But as we all know family comes first (well in most cases ) and I had to sell dues to first child coming along. I now have 2( girl 2/12 and boy 1) and the bug to get out and explore again and take them and the cook with me has bit hard. So looking for a 2007 and up T/D GXL but I know I am pickcy, it took me 8 months to find my cruiser so I will find the right one in good time.

Cheers

Hi guys, this is Asad from Melbourne.

Currently looking for my first 4wd and recently drove a 2007 Grande and loved it. As 2nd baby is on the way so wife wants something with alot of airbags and I want something for weekends.

SO in the market now.

I have to admit is an excellent site and I was refereed to this site by a friend.

Thanks.

Hi
This is a fantastic site for 4wd newbies like myself. We have just bought a 2006 120 series prado D4D (one of the first ones I guess from what I have learn't here - hope it doesn't have the "Death Rattle"). Don't pick it up for another 2 weeks, so can't wait! We did the Nulabour to Melbourne then back through SA via Great Ocean Road with our 3 girls in an Aurion in July last year in 2 weeks and couldn't get enough of it! Decided we wanted to see more and show the girls as much of this country as we can in the next 5 years, before the eldest one gets to year 11. I have spent the last 3 Months researching all the vehicles that suit our family and have gone with the Prado 120 GXL, with alot of thanks to this site!

Thanks Again for all of the help so far!!!

Cheers
