Gday everyone. I'm Tim, I live in Pymble and I'm a Paramedic with Ambulance Service NSW. Just ordered my new Prado (won't be here for a few months). But I'll be trolling around this forum picking up tips and ideas for when she does arrive in my driveway.

What I've ordered:

GX Prado (January 2013 build)
6 speed manual
Sandstone
Nothing extra except Headlight protectors and Weather guards for both front windows.

It was between a Hilux SR5 and Prado GX...obviously the Prado won (thanks to some advice I found on this forum) and because practically it makes sense...also it ended up being cheaper for the prado than the lux when I added a canopy, tray liner etc.

Hoping to meet some of you guys around here sometime.

Hi All, I am Andrew and live in Berwick Vic. I have recently picked up my new 2012 Prado Kakadu. I have been hovering around the forum for a few months learning what I can from all of your expertise. This helped greatly with my purchase and what a fantastic forum this is!

I had the full alloy bull bar installed, Safari Snorkel, Full window tint, Factory fitted tow bar with Brake assist for the van. I am looking at a draw system and fridge setup as well.

I recently took up paragliding and spend a huge amount of time with my camera shooting in the bush, landscapes, wildlife and anything else that catches the camera lens. My wife breeds frogs for a living to repopulate the dwindling populations around Australia to which we spend a huge amount of time on as well including some awesome macro photography of the frogs.

Hi All

Been lurking for a couple of months since I picked up car in May 2012. Found site very helpful, thanks all. This is my first true 4wd. Had Subaru Outback for awhile never went off road though. Took Prado for drive up Mt Terrible ( near
Jamieson Vic) last weekend fantastic.

Anyway here are my details

Model: GXL Turbo Diesel
Year: 2012
Colour: silver
Accessories: Factory tint, interior cloth treatment and body protection, mats

Since then have added:
Wynnum towbar( thanks to site) with toyota factory loom, sheep skin seat covers, TG150( thanks Brains), mud mud and more mud.

Looking to add: safari snorkel, brown davis under body protection, dual battery system, AT tyres, bullbar, HD incar camera, HID spot lights, alternator voltage booster( thanks LeighW) just to name a few things, oh and more mud

Ordered my first Prado last week and should be taking delivery towards the end of the month, can't wait! Currently based in Townsville so keen to meet any locals and get out amongst it!

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to PP. When your get your rig you will have a great time spending up on mods & accessories.
While you are waiting, have a look around & a bit of a read on this forum, it is an absolute goldmine of information.

WARNING!! you will find lots of extra ways to spend your money & no doubt will require a lot more of the folding stuff, than you may have thought.

I am in Townsville as well, actually there are a few members of PP up this way now, so maybe it's about time we did get together one day.

G'day all.

Purchased my '09 Prado GXL about a month ago now

Black,auto,turbo diesel,66,000km on the clock.

Previous owner had installed

- Magnum 9K winch / factory bull bar

- IPF Driving lights 1x spread 1x spot

- 3" exhaust

- 2" lift

- 265 / 70 r17 Cooper S/T on Black "sunraysia" style steelies

- Pioneer DVD / reverse camera.........small screens in back of front seat headrests for the kids

- Pro rack roof bars.

Looking to install cargo barrier,drawer system and a snorkel in the not too distant future........and to stock up on all the relevant recovery gear and goodies I want / need / what-ever the missus will never find out about.

Love to fish the Coorong beaches and Far West Coast of SA.......hence the name Sand Runner.

Look forward to becoming a part of the furniture on this great forum in the future.
