Hi all,
Newbie here - from Adelaide. This is our first 4WD. Last drove a 4WD as part of a support crew for 1995 Round Australia Rally so a little/lot rusty! Still on steep learning curve but keen. We got to do a good trip in June/July with experienced friends and along the way got to use pretty much all the kit (except the fire extinguisers and the PLB!).

Accessories: Front TJM bar with Light Force HID spots and Premier DV9000ES winch (rope), dual batteries, Airtek snorkel, Hannibal roof rack, Hannibal roof tent, Rack jerry can holders x 2, Hannibal postless awning, ICOM 440N UHF in car plus ICOM 41S hand held, Black Widow cargo barrier with top shelf and divider, Black Widow Travel Mate twin drawers with fridge slider, ARB 47ltr fridge, Black Widow 50 ltr internal water tank with pump, various rear DC outlets, Kaymar rear bar with dual wheel carrier, TJM XGS Gold springs and shockers (with ~5cm lift), 6 x steel 17" wheels with Cooper AT3s (replaced 18" alloys), and Tyredog (4).
Also Maxtrax, handheld sat phone (already owned that), registered PLB, fire extinguishers x 2, Typhoon dual pump air compressor, recovery gear, plus various others bits to go inside.
Wishlist: Rock hoppers, side bars, front bash plate (all currently "not doable with KDSS"), rear diff locker (assuming it is compatible with the electronic traction bits...), camper trailer to hang off the back, more money ;-)

Gday Bill nice bus....front bash plates are available for KDSS cars. I thought the VX came with rear diff lock like my Kakadu?

Morning all,

Have been reading up for a while and finally decided to pull the finger out and join - just wanted to say a big thank you to all the contributors to the site as the advice and information given has been invaluable over the last couple of months since I bought my rig.

Some vital statistics:

Model: 2003 V6 Petrol Grande
Mods: ARB Deluxe Bar, HID Headlights, Clarion Head Unit with Reverse Camera and hopefully plenty more to come!

Hi Pitbull, welcome. Might help as well for any further questions you may have to put your location in just makes it easier some times to help you out. I dont think you will find another website with the information that is available here on PP in regards to prados. The knowledge some of the people on here is just so help full, especially when Toyota cant find the issue but you walk in there telling them what the problem is and to be fixed under warranty or they try telling you a whole heap of shit which you know isn't true, so the information on here becomes extremely handy..........Cheers Steve

been here now for a while , so should make it official . new to prado and love it.
my one month old altitude in crystal pearl is a bare tool at the moment . but bullbar t13 is ordered as is bashplate ,some light force spotties will be fitted when the bar is fitted. and thats just the start. if the financial minister would be more kind , i would do the lot

G'day all,my name is Glenn and I live in Tom price NW WA and I thought it was time to actually intro myself after posting a couple of times and lurking a fair bit,I also decided to become a paid up member of pp.
My prado is now my third 4WD and my third toyota.
She's an 2012 glacier white D4d manual GX 5 seater and both my wife and myself love it.
