    Willy,
    Thanks.
My Thumper is a 60amp/hour model and tonight I read the very scanty doco that came with it. It says that the use of a cig lighter connection is 'not applicable'. I will probably get someone to wire up the kit that came with it and see if somehow I can stop the charging when the ignition is off.
    Cheers
    Noel

Hey all. Is it possible to completely remove the 2nd row seats from Prado's? Just thinking that if there were only two people, that would be the way to go for that bit of extra load space.

We have 4 kids so packing is a definate art form.

I use a table similar to this. It is the perfect length to fit across the back of the car. In the gap that is left between the 3rd row seat that is down, you can jam vertically foldup chairs etc.

With 4 kids & 2 adults you have to be very creative with space & limit what you take.

After a trip with the roof rack loaded, a 4 berth dog trailer with two dogs & the other 2 berths full of stuff, a head wind & an intention to stick to the 110km/h speed limit on a hilly freeway, the car returned a fuel economy close to 20l/100km!

I vowed there & then that I would take less stuff from now on.

A proper off-road camper trailer got moved up on the "what to get next" list.

        Cheers

Oh & anyone with 3 kids.....may I suggest to get the snip!
