  • Advice on a camper trailer

    Hi everyone
we are looking to sell our caravan and buy a camper trailer. Want to get further off the beaten track. Have a budget of between $6000 and $8000. I see there is a lot out there. Any recommendations? I would prefer galvanised as I live close to the beach.

Best bet is to attend one of the camping or off road shows about the place. Then you can look at them all.
We have one with an OzTrails tent on it, no happy with the quality of roof canvas. Apart from that has gone well.
Also consider the weight of the canvas, windows and door placement.
Heavy 14/16oz canvas sounds great but it is hard to handle and heavy to lift up and down.
You want big windows that have mesh to let the heat out and the mossies

If like us you may have kids sleeping inside consider where the door is and where you are going to sleep them.
The door near the trailer allows bunks to go on the outer side. If not you walk over the beds to get to the trailer bed.

    Hope that helps a little

here is another good site to look at http://myswag.org/forum/

So many options with Camper trailers it will probably do your head in if you read too much. If your handy you could consider building your own, more work but better bang for your buck!

            Cheers Andrew
