  • Just for thought

Was browsing through the 4x4 Australia magazine at coles this evening and came across an article stating that Toyota are planning to release a GX version of the 200 series here in Australia by the end of the year. Didn't read the whole article but it said the engine and gearbox would still be the same as with most of the 4wd features except it won't have kdss. Sad thing is that there is no pricing but if the princing does come out to be attractive, it may as well steer potential prado buyers to the 200.
    What do you guys reckon?

On myswag there is talk of a mine spec 200 series, barn doors, no push button start etc. That might be it.

Yeah, my dealer told me about this when I was buying mine, its a mine spec 200 series, they even mentioned vinyl bench seats, I think the idea was to make it as cheap and agricultural as possible. don't think it would be a particularly comfortable vehicle.

from memory the current GXL prado has a lot more features than the GXL 200 so it'll be interesting to see how basic the GX is.

80,000 .... with mining fleet discount you'd be looking at a vehicle under the luxury car tax threshold which is exactly what they're after

True Wooley with all that gear stripped off plus fleet discounts I wouldn't be surprised if they get them for under 60k

definitely... I'd say the mines will get them for around... $57,123

I think you'd be surprised. The mines want vehicles under luxury car tax. They do buy a huge amount of vehicles too.

                            I agree.
Big mining companies do global deals, including specifying exactly how they want vehicles manufactured and specked from the factory,
and for the most part, they generally get what they want from the suppliers.
2008 Diesel Prado with extra stuff added. I drive it on the road and other places too.

As part of my work I have seen discounts that are amazing. Being a "normal" consumer has nobs on it.
