  • China 4x4 - Accessories etc...

Ok, so I have been looking into cheaper alternatives to 4x4 accessories and came across this mob:

    Unity 4wd Accessories Factory - http://www.china4x4accessories.com/

Have any of you had any experience or know of anyone that has dealt with them? I just got sent a price guide for all of their parts and they appear to be unbeleivably cheap. Im all for getting a bargain but when the prices are this good it just makes me question it a bit more...

For example: Roof racks for $100-200, HID Spotlight for $50-100, Snorkel kit for $50...

I Just got this quote from them, with freight etc:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    HI,Matt
    Good day!
    1x RRS-5; Roof Rack, US$113.3
    1x STLC186; 120 Series Prado Snorkel, US$44.00
    4x ORL-XT2006; 12V Spot Beam HID, US$66.80

This items send to port Fremantle, ocean freight is US$215
    They are about 0.57CBM.
Would you like to order more goods?
Ocean freight is same within 1CBM.

    How do you think?

    Any question,please let me know.

    Thanks

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just wanted to know rerally if anyone has any feedback or has heard anything about these guys? Seems good so far but like I said... cheap enough to raise the question!!

    Thanks guys

P.S. Hopefully I havent broken any forum rules with this one... I had a read and dont THINK I have since Im not advertising for them - just posting a general question! But please, let me know if I have.

    Cheers,
    Matt

First time I have heard of them. Definitely a we can copy anything outfit ranging from an ARB bumper to Staun deflaters. Each to their own but I would avoid replicas as you pay for what you get.

Most things we buy probably come out of China anyway BUT at least buying here if theres a problem you have some come back.

The patrol4x4 guys went through this a short time ago, but it doesn't look like there's any feedback on the products yet. http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/gener...urchase-69750/

            EDIT:
Just remember that whilst we do buy a lot of chinese made products here, the quality is usually controlled by Aus or US companies/engineers. If you buy Chinese built/owned products, it will be subject to their own quality controls.

                  Haha... nice one Croozza.

I would tend to agree with both of you but thought I would raise the question to see if anyone had heard of them. I am considering ordering some basic stuff off them... maybe some lights and leave it at that. Just to see how good they really are. Worst case, i can throw them on Gumtree or ebay and sell them on (as long as they work) ... ;-)

                    Thanks for the feedback gents...

Yeah, the bullbars are around the $350 mark, winches for $200-300, an airlocker kit for $450 ... I dont think I would be incredibly comfortable driving around with these sort of things attached :P But Lights and crap like that cant hurt too much. Worst case is they arent as bright as ones from over here... But $60 compared to $600 - Im prepared to expect slightly worse quality :P

I have a PDF of the parts list with prices etc but not sure how or if i can post it here. If anyone wants a copy...

Haha Kakadaz... yeh the Engrish leaves a bit to be desired. You should see the rest of the conversation :P

120D4D - If you interested in some lights or something to have a look see, let me know and maybe we can sort something out to save freight etc...

Those prices are great and certainly a bargain. The HID's are looking very attractive. Plus it's not detrimental if they stop working or "break" unlike some other bolt-on gear for your car. Keeping in mind, a lot of the gear Opposite Lock, ARB, TJM and Ironman 4x4 stock is from China too. They source it from there to stay competitive like many other industries. Obviously anything they put their name to is compliant tested by themselves or an independent body and you're looked after with after sales service and warranties in this country. But there'd only be one way to find out if the stuff performs or not and that's to use it.

I wouldnt recommend onselling - as the importer you may be deemed to be the product manufacturer if the product fails and a lawsuit follows...

Each to their own I guess, id only buy for myself, not to resell.

I would think bullbar and other 'structural' equipment would have to be ADR compliant before they can be installed.
                            Be very careful here.

check out their warranty and any conditions that apply. if they offer a decent warranty and stand by it, that plus price would influence me into trying them out. obviously depends on safety factors etc too and each to their own when deciding on giving them a go. anyone that does use them should post up their experiences
