I'm surprised that bull bar didn't keep him horizontal on the ramp ( maybe it was a heavy boat trailer ) - what a monster of a bar !!!

Could be a crow eater thing as they are in fact, hideous

I'd never seen one until last year. In a couple of towns through SA and QLD nearly every second car had one. I had a great laugh at daggy country fashion.

Then I tried to think of the last time I had a stray bovine/roo/emu/goat cross my path on Sydney Road Brunswick and I pulled my head in.

            Still fugley though.
            Cheers

He should have bought the diesel. I was water skiing once in my youth and witnessed a brand new Alfa Romeo being dragged under with boat trailer attached. The owner had reversed down the Belmont ramp, launched his ski boat and was walking the boat to the beach when the car and trailer decided to roll down the ramp and commenced to float down the river. We pulled it out with the trusty Fairmont V8 wagon. And, just like in the cartoons, when we opened the doors all the water came rushing out. Naturally, the car was a write off.

Last time I was out at Dalby, I noticed nearly every 4WD Wagon or Ute had that style bar. Even saw a few on Commodores and Falcons. Here in Toowoomba, only 80km from Dalby, you hardly ever see them. I agree with previous sentiments, they are ugly.

I was at the Hervey Bay marina boat ramp a few years ago watching a bloke in an XR8 ute trying to pull his "massive" boat out of the water and up the ramp. The ramp was slippery as it was low tide and he reversed his car too close to the water's edge and his rear tyres were just spinning on the ramp and not even smoking. While flooring it his car would slip backwards by a foot or two into the water and then regather the ground lost before slipping backwards again repeatedly. If it wasn't for a fast thinking Patrol owner he would've been in serious trouble. The Patrol raced down and hooked up a tow line. He towed the XR8 and the boat out quickly with no problems whatsoever. At the time the smaller car I owned was in no way capable of towing him too safety, plus it was parked too far away, otherwise I would've been the first to sprint back to my car to help him.

I am a fan of the Tuff bars. I have had a few utes in the past and love them all done up with bars, lights etc. But i must be getting "mature" as in Sydney it is not needed, except for peak hour!

I was at a boat ramp possibly the same one bushbasher mentioned Abernethy rd Belmont waiting for someone to load their monster boat on their trailer conected to an old rear wheel drive hilux petrol they tried to pull the then loaded trailer out only loosing traction and slowly sinking deeper in the Swan.So the doodle heads decided to snatch the Hilux and boat out with a falcon ute still loosing traction and again slowly creeping back into the Swan.I suggested to take the boat off the trailer drag them both out let me quickly get my boat out the drink and I will wack their trailer on the back of the Prado and get their boat out for them, the response I got was go and get #####d. So I jumped out the boat reversed the trailer through the reads next to them and had my boat on the trailer and sitting in the parking bay within 3 minutes and sat on the bonnet of my car sipping beer and laughing at these clowns attempting to destroy 2 cars they eventually gave up and called 3 tow trucks.
