AN unlucky Northern Beaches man has had a very expensive afternoon on the water after his brand new four wheel drive slipped off the side of a boat ramp, sinking in about a metre of water.
A tow truck was required to salvage the Toyota Prado from Winnererremy Bay at Mona Vale following the mishap which occurred shortly after 3pm today.
Bystanders enjoyed the unusual scene as the very embarrassed driver was forced to wade out to the submerged vehicle and steer it as it was winched back on to dry land.
The man had been launching his boat when the very costly accident occurred.
