Thanks Troy, I had planned on replacing the whole lot of them with whatever I get.

AMTS, I think you might be able to keep those oh unless you want to throw in a set of plates

Any ideas where to get a replacement bolt from? I did try my local autoparts store but they had nothing that matched the thread.
It should be a std thread, nothing special, try another auto parts shop.

        Andrew,
How much did the Easy out set you back? I'm now in the same situation after trying to remove the seats on our Tarago so I can get to the in-tank fuel filter. The bolt head is starting to round.

AMTS, I just went into bunnings and got a set of 4 or 5 for about $7. Now obviously they arent the best but did the job for what I needed. They had other sets there from more well known brand names for about $70 or $80 for a set of 4 or 5.
Obviously if it looked like I was going to need then for more jobs I would have forked out some more $$'s but for my every now and again backyard job these should be fine and if they arent whats $7?

Thanks Andrew. I dropped by Bunnings this morning and saw the $70 sets and nearly fell over. However, they did come with the matching drill bits. Couldn't find the cheapie set you mentioned. They had singles but was out of stock for the M12 size extractor.

hahaha I did the same until I saw the cheapie set. I almost bought a set from e-bay before going to bunnings, there was a set there for $25 including the matching drill bits.

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure if the cobalt drill bits will drill into the high tensile bolt I'm trying to extract. Will try and find a friendly mechanic with a rattle gun. My 6-point impact socket is still holding onto the head but my 18V cordless impact wrench is no match for the torqued up bolt.

On a side note, Toyota wanted to charge me $820 for the Tarago major service including replacing the in-tank fuel filter ($214 !!), Air filter ($40) and brake fluid ($24 for 3 bottles). That equates to $540 in labour! Maybe I can afford the $70 set of easy outs after all
