cd players

hi there i have just brought a vx prado v6 petrol in a private sale. however i did not check that the cd player 6 stacker was working ,rang the previous owner and he said it was working but he hadn t used it for years as he only listened to the radio. i tryed to force a cd to load in a rage and it is now jammed. got any clues to my next move ? do i have to remove the whole console dash to get at it ? help needed as am not a wiz on auto electrics and the dumb dumb guide:-P

If you can't get the CD out from the slot, then you'll have to remove the unit from the dash and then split open the unit. There are instructions on here which shows how to remove the unit. You have to start with the silver trim next to the gear lever and work upwards.
