As I mentioned above, I have the IPF (900s) with HID kit currently running 1 spot, 1 spread. I also have a spare spot (pencil beam). Unfortunately not 2 spreads, but If you'd like to see what they look like before you commit, PM me and we can catch up somewhere and arch em up...

Thanks for the offer Craig but the rig is already in at ARB, Went with Spot/ Spread combo. See how that goes. If i dont like it, I can always change it.

Ahr thats the reason,. I leant another thing today! Thanks.
I'll get the clear covers then on my Hids
      cheers

I was lead to believe the blue filters/ lenses were to reduce reflection from roadsigns and cats eyes etc, thus reducing fatigue. Are a very popular choice with truckies for this reason. Yellow covers are for fog. As you mentioned you don't do much highway driving so maybe they would be useless for your setup. I've fitted 900XS both in pencil as I too think the headlights, especially with upgraded bulbs, do a good enough spread job. Can't agree with Gumboot that the lense "significantly reduce light intensity", they do a little but hardly noticeable on my setup.

        Just my two bob, cheers.

For my 2c, personally I reckon that the Prado headlights are atrocious. Worst I've had for actual light output since my '91 Hiace. Our Kia Rio has better headlights. Mine is an old '97 model though. I've kept it simple & just fitted 2 Hella 160 Driving Lights & they do the job for me. I did have 2 IPF's on my old Patrol (1 spread, 1 spot) & really liked them but they went with the Nissan & wouldn't have fitted the nudge-bar on our Prado anyway. A work-mate of mine shoots 'roos in his spare time & for bush-driving he has 2 x spread IPF's on his 'Cruiser with the 'Roo Spot on the roof.

Kav, yes I agree. To close off this thread. I ended up going with 2 spots. I tried the spread/ spot combo. but I didnt like it. For me I found the 2 spots worked better. Your mileage may vary.
