• Whats your favourite or most interesting mod?

Hi all, I have been scrolling through the forum this morning, I cant find a post I thought was on this site, but I am interested in what you feel is your favourite or most interesting mod you have made on your yota yet and why?

As I am a simple guy and not very creative, I must say I havent made anything too interesting but the mod that I couldn't do without is my roof racks funnily enough. With a few ferals who like to use the back seats, I find the racks are useful on the quick weekends away, the longer trips or for throwing some shit ontop after a visit to a man store! Whata great utilisation of an empty space, draw back is excess fuel consumption obviously!

    Whats your favourite mod?
2005 GXL, TJM Bar, 2" Tough Dogs, Narva Spots, GME UHF Radio, Warn Winch, BFG AT's, Dual Battery, Red Arc BMS, Safari Snorkel, ARB air, Piranna Breathers, Rhino RR, Waeco 50lt, XTM recovery, Open Sky Awning - towing a Customerline Camper Trailer!

People who know me won't be surprised when I say my favourite mod is the rear air locker. Perhaps not very interesting but it is the single best improvement to the prado's off road ability that I have had done.

PLANNED: 3 or 4" suspension lift, 2" body lift (maybe), winch, 35" MTZ + roadies, front locker, sliders, cylinder head rebuilt for LPG, Garret Turbocharger

Agree, but I will go you one more with a front locker as well.

..and I'll go you both one more with ratios

However, whilst all the diff work does wonders for vehicle ability, for me, I'll actually pick the custom mods which were required to fit the 33" tyres. IE; the body lift (bar/bumper lift, cargo bump stops, radiator drop, steering, etc) and wheel arch modifications. I choose this part due to the accomplishment of custom work, and part because it looks sooo much better after!!

I would say the Drop down fridge slide I made, and the Fridge is brilliant as well!

I might chamge my mind on this if I get this importing caper sorted and get a new toy for the Prado from OS.

              Cheers Andrew

i would say adding an anchor hook behind the third row seats so the youngest is separated from the rest of us so quiet now without the fighting

Andrew is that an ARB 47 litre fridge on the blackwidow drawers?
Did you, just find it too high if you were to use the blackwidow drawer slide?
                        Cheers

Although I don't have the Prado anymore, would have to say having Live Axle front on my "new" 80 series is great =D

As for actual mod, although it's simple, the UHF saves so much time when 4wding and also makes trips more social as you can talk to the other drivers whilst driving.

I didn't have an issue with the height, but my vertically challenged wife found it was too high.
