Just remembered what else the ipad didnt have, flash player. some thing about compatability again. Now I dont even know what a flash player does Im presuming some thing to do with playing video ?? And Russ I saw this one today at JB Hifi as well but she sort of diverted away from it but I dont think for any particular reson, I think it was cause I was asking her about the samasung which was right next to it. See even me looking at the specs mean jack to me, Im presuming the higher number for things the better lol. I do know the samsungs camera was only 3.5MP I did ask about that which I thought was a bit low but have no idea on what the others are either so maybe pretty standard for an ipad ?? Jeez Ive got heaps to print up and compare now, was going to get it without wife knowing But I think she is going to have to have a look at things as well to make sure she likes it if Im going to be spending just under a grand on one by the looks of it..........Cheers Steve

Steve, if you go with your wife, don't think about anything else for wasting time, i bet she will take Ipad 3G, you will have no other choices (i got this experience with my wife, and all other women i know as my friends). Ipad really has a real killer look in women' eyes comparing with any other model.

And at that time, it will be hard to convince her that Ipad is not good enough. No, that reason will be never been accepted by a woman holding an Ipad in her hands.

              Have a rest now mate.

                      Steve,

I would suggest you have a go of an android tablet before you buy one. As an IT guy for work, a lot of the time the best computers/tablets/etc are the ones that are easiest to use. Android isn't the worlds most user friendly software. Try it out first, then if it's all ok, make your decision.

I'm switching some users at work to iPads purely because they are the easiest tablet to use.

No doubt the iPads are easier to use. They also have better resale value too if you want to keep upgrading everytime the next iteration comes out.

I don't think you can run OZI on the Ipad. With other Mac computers you can create virtual Windoze machines (which run within OS-X) with proprietary software, but this isn't available for the Ipad (yet - that I'm aware of).

If you want to use any GPS applications stand-alone, you would need the 3G model, as the WIFI-only ones don't have a GPS.

I have an Ipad 2 3G 64gb, which I mainly use for work purposes. If I were looking for a tablet to do navigating, I'd follow others' advice and check out the Android or Windoze products.

N.B. IMO, the camera on the Ipad is rubbish. I only use it when I don't have a regular camera with me.
