I'm not so sure about good driving skills, it's all kinds of mentally challenged.

I didn't know you could float an 80 series! pure luck that he didn't float further downstream.
Lol, a perfect example of depth checking before crossing but still greatly entertaining. Wonder why he was so keen to get across...
And if his mates tried their luck too??
97' Prado VX Grande Emerald/Silver, 3.4L, auto, Bilstein shocks/ Dobinsons coils 2'' lift, breathers on everything, snorkel, Maxxis Bighorns. Coming before Summer, Uniden uhf, spotties and with luck a winch bar.

I'm with you. Good driving skills would suggest you didn't drive through. Having said that, each to his own.

He was lucky the water wasnt moving quick although I doubt he would have attempted it other wise. Apparantly he was towed about 5 minutes after this crossing. Not sure what went wrong with it but imagne it was some thing to do with the water probably getting in some where it shouldnt have.......Silly ?? yeah maybe but possibly he has crossed it many times so new the depth and the risk he was taking with his vehicle, wouldnt say life as he could have swam out of it if need be. Glad it wasnt my vehicle, but as mentioned above everyone to there own as long as it didnt involve rescue people having to try and save him and risking there lives other wise my reply would be totally different. This was posted on Exploroz website, its where I copied it from.......May be more answers on there as to why he went across ?? Cheers Steve

Perhaps his mate waiting on the side could put on a water bra and enter the river to create a wave to try and push him to the other side.

Maybe an interesting mod to have is to attach paddles to the spokes of the wheels. It sure would look as ridiculous as those headlight eyelashes I've seen in our neighbourhood but at least it would be useful.

Now I know why I fitted a snorkle...
More luck than good management in getting through the river. The amount of damage that may have been caused could be costly.
To publicise this kind of stupidity is why we all get a bad name.

                    That's great, good on him!

When I was a kid we used to set up jumps beside a lake near home and jump our push bikes into the water, this bloke's just a bit more adventurous.

                    Great entertainment!
