  • New Bridgestone A/T D697 Tyre

It seems the Bridgestone Dueler D694 has been superceeded with the D697.

I'm about to put 5 new tyres on the 90 Series, and was set to pull the trigger on the D694LT, however, now Bridgestone are telling me about the new model...

Has anyone heard anything about them, or is anyone running them?

(I ran a search on here, but couldn't find anything)

In the US they are called Revo 2 (the D694 are Revo). There are reviews here but seems to have similar feedback to the D694 both positive (good traction) and negative (poor wear on warm roads, noise).

They were in the Jax catalogue, hard to spot the differences.

697 is more of a highway terrain than the 694, I'd try and source some 694s

I looked at these for my daughters Pathfinder, the 697 is passenger construction the 694 is LT. This from the Bridgestone website.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

Didn't notice that earlier... Scary thing is it was Bridgestone Tyre Centre that told me they are the direct replacement...

That's what the website says also http://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/treads/d697.aspx

That's true Peter (which is why I was confused), but as the others have mentioned if you look at the tyre sizes, there's no LT models.

Stick with LT construction for off roading.

I agree, until they introduce a 697LT option then there is no replacement for the 694LT.

I have had the d694 ( non LT ) on the Prado since new, have done 45000km, they should be good for around 60000, judging by the wear rate.
I like them, good allround tyre, I find them as quiet as the oem tyres. But better at everything, especially handling, steering braking and wet weather performance. Makes the oem tyres look very average.
Only criticism is that they aquaplane a bit too easily for my liking.
I will look at these for that reason, the improvement in aquaplaning is mentioned.
Might put these on the new Prado, that I should hopefully be getting in a couple of month
stepped up the a 200 LC for towing,
but had a 2012 and 2010 150 Prado GXL auto diesel in Graphite with Bridgestone D697 A/T. Dobinson C59-300/325 and Bilsteins. Accessories : two baby seats. Sidewinder`s Dual Battery isolator and rear power outlet kit. Pirana Battery tray, Hayman Reese towbar with Toyota wiring kit and Brains`s guard.

We have just put our 3rd set on our new Prado, first set non LT around 60k, second set LT done 60k when sold and still have 15-20k left in them.

                              D694:

                              D697:

                              Based purely on those images;
                              - the D694 has more sipes, so will last longer when going hard on rocks.
                              - the D697 has wider vertical channels, so will handle on-road water better.
                              - they'll both turn into slicks at the mere sight of mud!!
