  • How do these things happen ??

    [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Makes wonder how alot of these things happen. Some of these shots look pretty serious and makes me wonder, diid they get out of it ok ?? Was it due to lack of control or falling asleep, are any of these vehicles owners from PP ?? At the end of the day its quit scary as to what can happen wether itd due to the driver of these vehicles making an error or some one else. Either way I hope none of them were seriously injured or killed. I hate to be a cop or SES or ambo's turning upto these types of things. They must have some sleepless nights especially when young ones are involved, couldnt think of of any thing worse..........Just come across these pics on ebay selling trim parts etc....I hope these pictures are not from anyone on here and bring back bad thoughts/memories, if so please let me know and I will remove them as not to upset anybody....Cheers Steve

I'd say there'd be a pretty slim chance of walking away from the last two. Speed + 4wds + corners = more business for wreckers.
      SLOW DOWN!

Sad really. Each tells (or hides) its own story.

How did you get the picks? Where can I grab a spare rim?

Reminds me of the dick head I saw tonight in a p plate 120 gxl with a jetski on the back that was revving the shit out of daddy's car to look like a sick **** to all his mates. Now I'm only 20 have grown out of all that shit and go to a track to race. It's people that think oh I'm bullet proof my daddy's petrol will beat your diesel. The sad thing is it's the effect his poor immature
decisions make on other family and his friends that will be attending a funeral and seeing another life cut short. But seriously it costs shit all to go to Queensland raceway and you get to flog the tits off your car and skid 4th down the straight. I'm pretty sure that's more fun then hitting another car threw a intersection or pedestrian. Just my rant for the night

As soon as I read the first post, I thought to myself...... I bet MLC is the first to ask about parts availability.

This is the page, scroll bout 1/2 way down, there are a few different parts. doesnt say wheels in any of the adds, but possibly available if you ring them, mind you with the extent of the damage to some of these prado's Id be very carefull of any possible damage, warped, buckled wheels, by the extent of the damage to these vehicles the wheels could have had an extreme amount of pressure put on them, either sliding sideways etc....heres the link http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_t...4.l1581&_pgn=4 Cheers steve

I agree with Steve. Many years ago I went looking for second hand rims, but when I saw the vehicles they were coming off (like the pictures above), I changed my mind pretty quickly!!

Yeah Glen, personally I wouldnt be touching them due to safety issues, some thing that may not be visible by the eye, but if xrayed may have stress fracture cracks in them. Wouldnt like to be going down the road at 110 and one of them cracked or some thing or cracked around the studs...........Cheers Steve. Actully i will send MLC a PM and advise against it incase he doesnt get this post for some reason......Good point Glen

It pays to fit a good quality cargo barrier (not the Toyota crap) as I have seen a couple of 80 series cruisers involved in a rollover, and the cargo barrier kept most of the roof intact, apart from the front section. The front section had dented a bit, but it was surprising that the cargo barrier was still sitting in place in both rollovers, so much so that it would have protected any children in the second row of seats.

First thing I did when I bought mine, was to fit a roll bar.
I have seen too many roll overs out bush over the years and killing your kids is something that no man would get over.

Umm, isn't the Toyota cargo barrier just a re-badged Milford, which is one of the most reputable brands on the market?

Be interesting to see what percentage of those accidents were either offroad or soft roading.
