Forum results sorting options (how to?)

Hi

Can someone tell me how to make permanent changes to the forum results sort order.
I want to sort by-
threads = from beginning
sort by = last post time
order threads = descending

Ho do I make this permanent as it resets every time I change forum.
The thread settings in Settings/General do not cover this.
