Prado 120 Sries Fuel Tanks

I have recently purchased a 120 Series Prado Turbo Diesel and I am wondering if anyone out there can tell me how the dual fuel tank setup is supposed to work and if both tanks hold 90 L as stated in the book?

When you fill up it fills both 90L tanks, when you drive fuel is pumped from one tank to the other via a venturi system. When the fuel gauge gets to half a green light comes on and the fuel gauge goes back to full. I usually get approx 900klms out of the first tank then 500klms out of the second which sees me around 1/4 with the green light on.
