  • Carbon Monoxide Poisioning - Sad, timely reminder....

AN investigation was underway Monday after suspected carbon monoxide poisoning at a campsite in England's West Midlands region left a teenage girl dead and three members of her family seriously ill.

Wright said he believed the family had used a disposable barbecue in the porch of their tent the night before.

Very sad. A good bit of ventilation and being aware of possible issues. There was another recently i read about where some guys in a caravan had all the windows closed and a simple gas burner pilot light was the cause.

Unfortunately it is very easy, carbon monoxide binds with haemoglobin much more easily than oxygen does. This in turn starves the lungs, brain and tissues of oxygen, causing death quite rapidly. People who are suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning lose consciousness very quickly and are often unaware of the effects until it is too late!

Its a real shame that people aren't educated about the dangers of something so silly.
