has anyone experienced a noise similar to air pressure relief valve going off when vehicle is under load / accelerating ?. I have a 2002 3.4 litre V6 Prado have 105,000km on clock . Our mechanic thought it may be a faulty petrol cap but have changed it out with now difference, He has also discounted a faulty oxygen sensor it is spasmotic and only last for a second.

Reason I mention aircon is when I had one of my 90's which was a petrol and been a grande when the duel air was running every now and then it made this whooshing sound which was coming from rougly around the fire wall. Never really bothered to find out what is was as it never gave me any troubles but when the duel air wasnt runnning it never made the noise, only when running both coolers. If running just the front air it never made the noise. I did check it out and there was a valve on the fire wall on drivers side which alot of the aircon pipes ran to which then ran to the rear of the car. I reckon there was an airlock in the system because it started doing it after I had the air regassed........Cheers SteveFace lift 150 Prado V6 auto. No mods yet
