Pradopoint seems pretty good to me as far as forum ettiquite goes. every once in a while someone has a bit of a dig, or says something thats upsets someone else, but its rare and its minor given the wide range of personalities that are involved.

I joined an American forum a while ago..................... man they are totally of the chart as far as getting stuck into each other goes, have a look at this thread, post #15 in particular http://weldingweb.com/showthread.php...01#post1198301

Its not an isolated incident either, its a welding forum and you should see what they write when people disagree about welding techniques, and the moderators often join in! I joined to improve my welding skills, not sure I am going to be brave enough to post much though, death threats aren't unheard of!

Oh and then they have an off topic section, the gun culture over there is unbelievable! Yep no plans for this little black duck to head stateside any time soon, much safer in good old Oz me thinks!

    Cheers Andrew

Interesting, most of the forum is public accesss, I surfed it for ages before joining. Obviously some parts aren't open to the public though!

Anyway here is the post I was refering too, and there are hundreds more I could find with similar tones.

What a dumbass retardlican you are Fat Blabber.. Evidently your stupid enough to stand in line and let the retardlicans take the money from your pockets.. Your pathetic, heed your own words you facist pig....

Republicans have destroyed everything they've touched since the 80's, including the U.S. Postal Service and Social Security, especially when they dipped their mitts into Social Security during the bush years, and you know it.. Republican politicians are the lowest form of thieves on the planet..

Who the **** is Burcy anyway? You drunken babbling idiot. You need to take a spelling class after your AA meeting..
Makes PP seem like kindergarten hey!

sounds like there is a background of political discussions going on. That is one of those topics, like religion that really should not be explored too much on a forum.

Has anyone ever been changed their political and religious biases based on what they read on a forum anyway?

That particular thread is actually about comments Tony Abbott made regards the carbon tax and the closure of the Aluminium plant in Victoria, which is why it caught my attention.

Yep they get stuck into the whole religion thing as well. But it seems they will go off at just about anything, if someone buys a welder that another guy doesn't like they feel free to abuse them and call tham all sorts of names.

Yep glad we are a bit more refined here

              Cheers Andrew

I am on a woodwork forum and there is a fella from the US. Nice bloke and all. Anyways, he is telling a story about how he lives in the country and he heard a car stop at near the gate to his farm. And he couldnt decide which firearm to take with him to see who it was. A shotgun or his glock..............

                        He just couldnt decide

interesting discussion, I have met many from the USA when living overseas, most of them from the Southern areas seem to be more paranoid about their government coming a knockin of the front door than any level of criminal activity...back to 4wding maybe?
