I unfortunately had a recent roadkill - just came back from travelling up to Coral Bay and was approaching a bunch of crows and an eagle munching on some roadkill in the lane I was travelling in.

I washed off a fair amount of speed (down to about 60kph and I was able to safely move to the other lane. The crows had already flown off however as I went past the eagle took off straight in front of me, flying across but in the same direction I was travelling. I hit him square on with my bullbar and it deflected underneath the car.

Unfortunately the eagle didn't make it, however no damage was sustained to the car and me and the family were able to arrive safely. I felt pretty shithouse to say the least about killing the eagle, but thanked my lucky stars we were ok.

I think I hold a fair amount of empathy for our natural earth, which only added to how bad I felt for killing the eagle.
