hey guy's girls , some of you may have just seen the article on " a current affair" about the zig zag railway in NSW which is apparently again experiencing " financial " problems or gov't BS problems . all gov't BS problems can usually be fixed with cash . being that all of our usual 4wd expeditions into newnes SF usually start and end in the zig zag railway carpark including using their toilet facilities , while we hog the best positions while airing up and down . would it be out of place to afford the zig zag foundation , maybe a dollar coin per vehicle that uses their carpark and facilities . imagine if every 4wd that comes through there donates just one dollar to help keep a NSW tourist icon up and running . i personally have never been on the zig zag , but would hate to see it fold . realistically 1 dollar per vehicle is nothing in the scheme of what we spend on fuel , tyres or repairs after being in newnes SF for a day ,so why not when we monopolise their carpark , allbeit briefly twice a day , why not give them a donation , maybe the other 4wd clubs will follow suit . its not going to hurt the image of 4wders . just one of my idiotic drunken thoughts . think about it guys . cheers kav .

I seen the article you refer too ,and think your idea is a stroke of brilliance,and it would be good to raise with other forums and clubs etc.
I know an old retired plumber who spends many an hour as a volunteer at the zig zag in his overalls and engine drivers cap,. When my kids where younger we took them on it and the kids loved it. I think the railway seem to be stuck with safety issues with b/s from regulators, sounds like they are being asked to put airbags and abs on a model T ford. No doubt they will survive but any help including a few gold coins donations would be great.
