• ARB Supply Problems

Rang up my local ARB agent today to order a snorkel and was told it would take 2-3 weeks to get as ARB were taking a long time to supply their gear.
A mate of mine has been waiting weeks to get a bar, snorkel and other things fitted and can't get any idea of when things are due to arrive.
Anyone else having problems?

When I ordered my ARB Under Vehicle Protection, I was told it was available ex stock Victoria.

3 weeks later it finally arrived and was fitted.

I was told that there was about 8-10 weeks wait on a bullbar.

Cheers,

Jeff

Agreed - 8-10 weeks on delux winch bar, the same for Alloy roof rack. Snorkels are also 3-4 weeks wait.

OME suspension - most parts available, some parts not

They have a new factory being built at present, but will not resolve current supply problems until 2013.

Lets just hope I get items before the 2012 PP GTG
Graphite 150 series "Altitude" - MT ATZ 4-rib ATZ, ARB Delux winch bar, Magnum 9000lb winch, ARB CKMA12 air compressor(with tray) dual battery, LF 240 HID, Waeco 80L fridge, OL 45 lt fridge, ARB Roof Rack and space case, GME 3450 UHF, OME Shocks and Springs, ARB awning, BRC quad diff breather, TG150 gaurd, AMTS bash plates and a wishlist!!

Went to pick up new Old Man Emu shocks for the Prado tonight, nope haven't come in yet............ maybe next week!

Its a good sign for ARB in a lot of ways I guess, they are obviously flat out. I recall Sam saying that they were "under the pump" a while ago. Just not so good for those waiting on gear!

I put in a deposit for the delux bullbar at the Brisbane 4x4 show not knowing it leads time. Was then told by ARB coopers plain it would take 6 weeks, turned out to be 10 weeks wait. Look like they still have a suply problem.

Yes will be my second set, very happy with the first set. Yes other shocks might be "better" but you pay more $$ as well. In my case however I am fitting 80 series shocks to the rear of the Prado and the OME are the "best" I can find given that open and closed measurments where the major factor in my decision; and as stated I have been very happy with the first set. The rears could stay in for a while longer but I want more flex!

I just had a snorkle and OME 2" kit put in. I think it was 2 weeks from when I ordered till it was fitted but the gear was ready in about a week and a half.

2-4 weeks delivery usually means "just in time manufacturing" and importing from overseas.

I work for a manufacturer and when our product is the best we sell more than our competitors, therefore we sometimes have delays as the factory ramps up to meet demand.

Supply delays sometimes mean that the product is the best and that you may have to wait a short time for delivery. Probably why 150 Prados were on back order when released.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.

I ordered some of the IPF black grill covers (required 3 of them). They had 2 available in Victoria - took 3 weeks to come in. The third cover took about 6 or 8 weeks to come in, ex Japan I believe. Took them home, waited a week or so to fit them and when I did, noticed one of them had a small crack it in!! Argh!! Ordered a new one and have waited 3 weeks already. This was all after I decided to pay their exorbitant price.

*Sigh*

Maybe Sam could give us an update from ARB's perspective - seems its Australia wide...

Ordered a Colour Coded 120 Winch Deluxe Bar on 1/5/12, should be here next week some time... making the 9 weeks they quoted me pretty much spot on

Ordered some OME springs/shocks, had them about 5 days after i ordered them... although i think they mentioned they were coming in on a stock order anyway

...interestingly, i went in chasing a roofrack recently, as i like the ARB one.... but due to the lengthy times in supply, it seemed they were trying to steer me towards a rhinorack instead (this might be a blessing anyways)

Most companies (like ARB), during these hard financial times, will only make what is required or sells quickly. So the delay is because they have to make the item your after, No company (or supplier) likes to keep stock on hand if it does not sell quickly. You can bet your left nut that you dont sell Prado bullbars or shocks everyday.
